Weight for lean and muscular divers: what to know
Muscle is denser than fat, so a lean build floats lower and takes about 1 kg less lead in this model. That is an adjustment, not a rule: your suit and tank still matter more.

Worked example
For an 80 kg diver with a lean or muscular build, wearing a 5 mm wetsuit and using an aluminum 80 tank in saltwater, the calculator estimates 5.5 kg (12 lb). Your number will differ with your body and gear, so enter your own values above and then do a buoyancy check.
Common questions
Do lean divers need less weight?
Often a little. This model takes off about 1 kg.
Is muscle heavier than fat?
Per volume, yes. Muscle is denser than fat, so it floats less.
Why do thin divers struggle to stay down?
Mostly because of the suit, which adds lift regardless of build.
Should I trust the build setting?
Treat it as a starting guess and confirm with a buoyancy check.
Does build matter more than the suit?
No. The suit has the largest effect on weighting.
